2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup wild rice blend
1 medium onion, diced
2 carrots, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
Prepare the Ingredients: Start by gathering all your ingredients. Dice the onion, chop the carrots and celery, and shred the chicken if not already prepared.
Add Ingredients to Slow Cooker: In your slow cooker, combine cooked chicken, wild rice, diced onion, chopped carrots, chopped celery, and dried thyme. Pour in the chicken broth.
Season: Add salt and pepper to taste. If you want more flavor, feel free to add garlic powder or any other herbs you love.
Cooking Time: Set the slow cooker to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The longer you let it simmer, the better the flavor will be!
Add Cream: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream for a rich, creamy texture.
Check Consistency: If the soup is too thick, add more chicken broth until you reach the desired consistency.
Serve: Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
